Global Web Finishing personnel are highly experienced with the die cutting and product handling strategies for inserting cut offs and placing these cut offs onto a high speed running web to create the very popular “closed end mailer” products.
The term “closed end mailer” simply describes a majority portion of finished web pages of typical web finished pages/format, which is cut off in a mid-line located rotary (die) cutter and with adequate waste removals at head and foot - shortened enough to be placed in position onto to a running web and further contained inside of a sealed or unsealed envelope.
There are many variations of this type production format. From die cut “shaped” objects to “pull out” accordion formats, to the incorporation of multiple webs and materials, die cutter performance is paramount to success.
As a GWF portable die cutter can serve as the rotary (die) cutter in the “inserter” role, the specifics around your situation must prevail in machinery design and selection. Concerns such as total web width, how many webs and pages (product thickness), to web material types, coatings and speed requirements must determine designs.
In conjunction with the mid-line rotary (die) cutter, GWF specializes in the design of our high speed “inserter” section. The GWF “inserter” section is comprised of high speed, independent driven tapes which loop to a fully adjustable rotary plow fold devic,e thereby trapping the cut offs against the running web (envelope).
This special design “inserter” section fully follows speed of the web and die cutter ensuring precise cut off placement, speed and consistency of operation.
