Over the years, there have been several scoring methods and machine types used in the woven paper, web fed industry. Without doubt, the best quality scoring in the web direction we’ve ever seen is achieved through a specific “channel” scoring design.

The GWF portable “channel” scoring unit is web driven and portable to any press regardless of cut off or location within any press. The GWF design scores the web in up to four locations across the web width. By using dual consecutive scoring passes, any combination of top or bottom side scoring is allowed as the web passes through.

Each of the GWF scoring matrix (male/female) pairs are linked together and individually sidelay adjustable on the run. The GWF design also allows scoring depth adjustment for optimal quality output. Scoring rings (male) are available in various gauges to mate with corresponding channel widths (female) for various paper thickness and quality outcome.
